Osmania University exams postponed after students-police clash in campus

 With violence rocking the Osmania University (OU) here after pro-Telangana students clashed with police in support of their demand for granting statehood to Telangana region, the OU authorities today decided to postpone all the examinations scheduled from tomorrow.

 
"All the OU exams to be held from July 7-11 are postponed. There will be no change in the exams schedule beginning from July 12. The revised dates of the postponed exams will be announced later," the Registrar of the University said.
 
Similarly, the entrance tests for part-time PG courses in Engineering at College of Engineering on the varsity campus to be held on July 9 and 10 are also postponed.
 
Meanwhile, the University of Hyderabad--a Central University here notified that interview for admission to different courses/programmes (for shortlisted candidates) offered at the University for the academic year 2011-12 would be conducted on July 12.
 
The decision was taken to facilitate the shortlisted candidates who could not attend interview in view of the 48-hour Telangana region bandh being observed by different pro-Telangana organisations.
